Day seven was amazing up until the very end. My computer decided to crash and I don't think I'll be able to fix it. Sensei called his son this morning and will ask him to take it to the electronic place close by his work tomorrow or sometime next week. Until then, resources are a little limited for the blog.
Back to the good stuff though! I did have an awesome time lapse video to post of Sensei and I working in the studio. It was funny because for a majority of it I was sitting in one place, Sensei on the other hand was all over the studio like a busy bee. He and Megumi loved to watch it after it was shot. Before that though, I went on a nice long walk. it was a day of furry caterpillars and other beautiful bugs. I saw the biggest furry caterpillar I have ever seen, a spider weaving a really neat pattern in their web, a centipede that was scary looking, and an absolutely gorgeous dragonfly that was almost dead. It was pristine and just laying there upside down on a drain gate. I picked it up and brought it back to the studio, absolutely gorgeous. I also came across a grave yard, a beautiful outlook, and a decent size swimming pool giving lessons.
I've really been enjoying these walks and finding things big and small.
Not only did I get to take this amazing walk and work in the studio, but Megumi took me to a festival for young artists in Seto City. There was quite a variety if styles and techniques, it was hard to pick a favorite. We so stepped in the Maneki-neko Museum (the cat with the raised paw). Seto is quite famous for their Maneki-neko. As we were finishing up there Sensei met us and introduced us to a couple of the people he knew at the festival. It was quite fun despite the fact it had begun raining before we left and was still continuing.
After the festival we stopped on a pottery supply shop. IT WAS AWESOME! So many handmade tools and materials up to the ceiling. Let's just say that is where a majority of my yen has gone. I'm so excited about my goodies for my pottery studio. We then stopped at the grocery store and then headed back to the studio. Along the way though, Sensei and I got to talk and I got to hear more of his story. I love getting to know people's backgrounds and asking questions. He even said I'm welcome to come back again, which I would love to do!
Over all it was a wonderful day. I hope I can get my computer fixed soon so that I can post more images and videos from my camera. Until then, I'll try to take some good ones on my phone and best wishes back home!
